Trans Nzoia County Water and Sanitation Company Limited (TRANSWASCO) officially launched the implementation of its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system through an inception meeting held at the company’s boardroom. The meeting marked the beginning of a major digital transformation journey aimed at improving operational efficiency, accountability, and service delivery across the organization.
The inception meeting was officially opened by the Acting Managing Director, Lucy Njeri, who encouraged members of staff to remain positive, focused, and committed throughout the implementation process. She emphasized the importance of teamwork, cooperation, and active participation from all departments to ensure the successful rollout of the system.
In her remarks, Ms. Njeri noted that the ERP system will significantly transform the company’s operations by streamlining processes, reducing manual paperwork, and improving coordination between departments. She further highlighted that the implementation process would also provide staff with valuable learning opportunities and contribute to their professional growth and capacity building.
The training and sensitization session was facilitated by Mr. Boniface Vundi from Smart People Africa (SPA), who introduced staff to the various ERP modules that will be integrated into the company’s operations. These modules include Finance and Accounts Management, Human Resource and Administration, Procurement Management, Payroll Management, Billing Integration, and Technical Management.
During the session, participants were taken through the functionality and benefits of the ERP system, including automated workflows, real-time reporting, digital approvals, and integrated departmental operations. Staff were informed that the new system would replace the current manual requisition and approval procedures, allowing departments to make requests, process approvals, and access reports directly within the platform.
The ERP system is expected to improve transparency, strengthen accountability, enhance revenue management, and support faster decision-making through efficient data management and reporting capabilities. The system will also provide users with the ability to generate and download reports online in real time, improving overall operational efficiency and reducing delays associated with manual processes.
The meeting brought together key management staff and officers from various departments, including Chief Manager, Finance and Administration, Ramadhan Kubende; Principal ICT Officer, Peter Wasike; Principal Human Resource and Administration Officer, Bilha Sabwami; Principal Finance Officer, Mark Werunga; Acting Principal Commercial Officer, Esther Wesonga; alongside other members of staff.
The ERP implementation initiative demonstrates TRANSWASCO’s commitment to embracing innovation and modern technology in order to strengthen institutional performance, improve customer experience, and ensure efficient delivery of water and sanitation services to the residents of Trans Nzoia County.
