Our Mandate

As per the Service Provision Agreement (SPA) with the Lake Victoria North Water Works Development Agency (LVNWWDA), the Trans Nzoia Water and Sewerage Company (TRANSWASCO) is entrusted with providing efficient water and sewerage services within Trans-Nzoia County. The mandate includes:

  • Ensuring expertise in technical, commercial, financial, and administrative functions.
  • Delivering services within the defined service area.
  • Acquiring necessary licenses, permits, and warranties for operations.
  • Maintaining assets and ensuring no disposal without authorization.
  • Meeting performance targets set by the licensor.
  • Developing proposals to improve service delivery.
  • Managing customer connections, disconnections, reconnections, and service charges.
  • Protecting the environment and managing access to land, property, and water sources.
  • Collecting, conveying, and treating wastewater generated within the county.

TRANSWASCO operates under various legal frameworks, including the Constitution of Kenya 2010, Water Act 2016, County Water Act 2021, and others, ensuring adherence to regulations and delivering services in line with approved tariffs by the Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB).
